Cages

Well, when the world gets to be free,

we are rooted worse than a tree.

The cages don’t listen to you or me,

till now we didn’t have a single victory.

The golden days where we used to fly,

beaming with pride our heads were high.

The seasons changed, the leaves withered away,

but we are permanent, forever we stay.

Oh! these cages,

We have been here for ages,

We are put on the stages,

But not given any wages.

People come, look and they go,

blame us for not movin, we are feeling low.

They have shrank our world, put us here,

they want us to be happy, we can’t, I fear.

From our forest of bushes, shrubs and lush tree,

we are locked in this concrete jungle, unable to flee.

We can hear the whispers of our family in the darkest night,

but we are imprisoned, Oh! look at our plight.

But in our heart, we keep the fire of hope continue to burn,

to go back to our family, reunite and return.
