A Dream of Courage

The voice for those who could not speak,
The power for the weak,
The one who is different—
Rani Lakshmi Bai came into my dream.

I gazed at her.

She wielded a sword in one hand,
A shield in the other.
Courage and determination shone from her eyes.

She said:

Fight for what is right.

Unite the land with faith, hope, and trust,
Because a flock is stronger than one.
Stop the fight going on within.

Don’t be scared to follow what is right,
To do what will help others and you.

Inspire more of those fearless warriors
Who put their lives before their motherland,
Who are not only brave but also smart.

Conquer not only land, but waters and skies beyond.
Don’t limit your strength,
Because you can be more than you know yourself to be.
