“MAMAA”….. “BABAA”
Slam!
“I HATE MY LIFE”
Zayd pounded his hand on the table, his face contorted in wrath. His fury must have been sensed by the Glass Orb that sat on his table, because a second later, it fell down, smashing into smithereens. Blood red dust filled the room, forcing Zayd to duck. His eyelids drooped, his breath became shallow, and he started feeling groggy.
“huh?”
Zayd opened his eyes, to find himself in a white… room. Except, he could not see the two ends at once. It was Enormous… and there were kids. Real kids. Scattered, just few.
Zayd’s bewilderment reflected upon his face. “Did I die?” he asked aloud, and chuckled at the prospect of it. And just as he though things couldn’t get stranger, he was blinded by bright white light.
“So….” A deep voice rang around him. “Looks like ALL of you, are unhappy with your life. The one I created, with much effort. Then stop chanting that you hate your life, and create it yourself. Ahlan wa sahlan You are now in the game of choices.” the voice echoed- choices…choices… choices.. Zayd was sure, it was smirking.
“all the kids here, choose wisely,
Life isn’t always what you see.
A second chance, life has given
So no mistakes can be forgiven
Everything you choose, will open a new possibility
Happiness, dept, sorrow, tranquility
So choose wisely…
what’s to become your new reality”
“Now” it called out, “ya Habibi, ZAYD”
Zayd felt the ground spin, and toss him, on the cloud.
“Now, we start” the voice said.
“Just chose from this list” the voice continued.
“mm… no nagging for homework…” Zayd paused to read, and continued “I want my friends with me, and I want to play the whole day… yes, and also no home chores to be done”
“Fine”
Zayd felt a sharp tug. He found himself in front of a huge building, looking at his grime coated clothes.
“so, no homework, parents, or school. Just friends and play, the entire day. Interesting set of choices… Welcome to Al-Fajr Orphanage” the voice played in his ears.
