25th Hour

It was an eerie night. I was very thirsty, so I pushed my blanket aside and Jumped on the floor. I heard a faint humming sound which drew closer as I walked on. I slowly climbed down the stairs while I heard creepy whispering sounds. I thought I was dreaming. I pinched myself hard, that hurt, wait!

I WAS NOT DREAMING, as I stepped on the last stairs, I saw…. people. But they seemed like balls emitting a blueish-whitish light. Their face was as pale as the misty sky, “AA…” I gasped. I swung around, to See… one of the figures tapping my shoulder. The Life squeezed out of me, my feet turned into Jelly, my hand liquidized, “Mi…. look here!” The figure spoke, breaking my thoughts. I looked at the figure’s face, clutching my fists tight.

It was my grandma, who had passed away when I was one. “I have something important to tell you, “She said, “About your mother,” she said in a hushed voice. She sniffed and continued. “Your mother is a human but turns into a werewolf every full moon night when everyone’s asleep.” The last part was drowned in sobs. I straightened my face and looked up. “Grandma, really?” I asked. My words less to describe the astonishment. “You will see it in a few minutes, as today is full moon,” Grandma said.

I glanced at the watch 25:30 “Oh wait, what?” My watch can reach the limit of 24 hours only. 25th hour…, But how? My thoughts got drowned by the loud howling. “Mom” a horrified gasp escaped my lips.

“There is one way out Mi,” she said. ” I have this magic portion, give it to her, and all will be fine” she said, smiling a forced watery smile. I nodded. Everything happening was just out of this world for me. “Gotta go, best of luck,” Gramma said as a tear rolled down her cheek. “Help Mom,” She whispered before vanishing. Every other person in the room also vanished away.

I looked at my watch, it was 00:00 at night.
