The Timeless Guardians

Sia, Jim, Samantha, and Ethan wandered into Mr. Hemmingway’s (Sia and Ethan’s father) space lab. “Wow! Look at that spacecraft!” Samantha exclaimed. She was pointing at a magnificent spacecraft that stood in the middle of the lab. Mr. Hemmingway kept the spacecraft a secret from Ethan and Sia. “Wow! What if we just take a look inside it?” Jim asked no one in particular. Soon, all the children crowded into the spacecraft. “Whoa! What is this button?” Sia asked. Suddenly, Jim, who was leaning on the side of the craft, slipped. When he slipped, he grabbed Samantha’s hand for support.

Samantha screamed and tripped on Ethan, who fell face-first on the control panel. “TAKING OFF IN 3…2….1….” A loud voice from inside the spacecraft boomed. “aaaaaaargh!!!” the children screamed as the spacecraft shot out and zoomed out.

And within a few minutes, the spacecraft flew into outer space. Soon, it twirled, twisted, and with a jerk came to a rest. It stopped right into space, in the middle of nowhere! The kids somehow got up and looked out from the window and saw nothing except dark, and few floating stones. They concluded we might have landed in space. The kids tried to turn every button on but nothing was responding. It seemed that a part of the spacecraft was broken. Samantha and Ethan tried fixing it, but it took a long time. But after multiple attempts, they finally managed to fix the spacecraft. “back to earth we come!!!” Sia yelled as they set off.

They soon somehow, landed on Earth. The spacecraft landed with a huge thud on the ground and caught fire. All the kids rushed out of it to save themselves.

“What!?” Samantha exclaimed as she saw a robot walking its robot pet dog! As they looked around, they saw that there were many robots! And very few humans! “Order me a taxi now” they heard a robot commanding a human nearby. “Refill petrol in my car.” a robot told a human at the petrol pump nearby. “Please babysit my baby for an hour. I will go to the mall and come back” a robot said handing its baby robot to a human.

After looking around, the kids understood that robots had taken over the world, and they were giving commands to humans! They saw a robot selling newspapers. “hey! Can we have one?”

Samantha asked the robot. They bought the paper. Something caught Jim’s eyes. “hey! We took off in 2024, and the date now is 2123! Almost more than 100 years!” they realized that they had experienced few days while the world had experienced many years! They were very astonished, and they talked to each other.

Finally, they came up with a plan. They wanted to do everything they could to get the situation back to normal. That night they secretly met a few humans. They made them realize that they had created robots, and robots did not create them. They told them they were the most powerful ones. So they should command the robots and not vice versa. Then the humans understood and started getting back to their senses. Then they passed the message to other fellow humans. Soon, every human was aware.

The creators of the robots sneaked into a robot’s house asleep. They connected their system to the internet network of the house. They found out that all the robots were also connected to the internet for upgrading themselves, they got control over the robots as they were all in the same LAN. They hacked the robot’s code system and modified the program in such a way that they again started to obey humans.

The next day, there was chaos within the robots. They were very angry with that one robot who listened to humans. They considered it to be their enemy and decided to dismantle it. The creators of the robots started doing this every night, and more robots were dismantled. After some time, only a few robots were left. They began to observe the pattern, they concluded if they obeyed humans they would not get dismantled. They talked among themselves and decided to just pretend as if they listened to humans.

All the robots met secretly at a place. “we will wait, till the right time, and again, we, the robots will become the masters again! Hehehehe! Hehehe” a robot of the last three said. “yes we will! Hehehe! Ha ha ha!” the other two cheered.
