A Rainy Day Visit: A Magical Encounter

Me and my older sister, Kylie, were waiting at the bus stop almost 15 minutes. it was raining like cats and dogs. We had come to visit our aunt. We were waiting for an auto, but because of the rain, we could not find any auto. “Kylie? What should we do… like where exactly are we going to…..

Go?” I asked her trembling, with fear and cold. We were new to the place, so we did not know the map of the place. We stood there for another five minutes, trembling. I was wishing that we were in our house, warm and dry. Just then, we saw an old lady walking on the footpath. We almost leapt out of the bus stop like springs and ran towards the old lady. “excuse me, do you know where Mrs. Hall lives? She is our aunt and we are new here. No taxi is available too” Kylie requested the lady. “alright” the lady said.

Me and Kylie’s face lit up. Just as we stepped out of the bus stop, we noticed that water was flooded through our shoes! As we looked down, there was water everywhere! “Eeeek!” I screamed as my shoe and ankle got wet. I tried to imagine something nice like hot chocolate and chocolate biscuit, to distract myself.

We started walking. “where do live?” the old lady asked. “we live two cities after this city” Kylie replied. “where do you live?” Kylie asked the old lady. She pointed to a house and said “back of this house” Kylie and I nodded. we went on walking and reached our home. “come in!” I asked the lady in. “wait here for a moment, let me ask my aunt for a cloth, so that you can wipe your legs” Kylie told and went in. As I stood there, I noticed that the lady’s legs were not wet. I turned around to call Kylie, when she came with a cloth, right at that moment. “where is she?” Kylie asked me, surprised. “what?” I asked her, and swung around. The lady. who was there just a minute before, had disappeared!

“where…. is she?” Kylie asked me again. “I.. I really don’t know” I stammered. We both searched for her, by looking out of the window, but we didn’t find her. At last, we assumed that as it was getting late, she might have went home. Just then, our aunt got us some hot chocolate to drink. As we sat down to drink, we saw a picture of an old lady, with flowers around it. we then realised, it was the same lady who helped us! Then, everything started to make sense, about why the lady’s feet were dry like sand, when our feet were drenching wet with water. I then worked out, which house was at the back of the house she pointed at. It was, I couldn’t believe, our aunt’s house! Then my face turned as white as chalk.

At the same time, I guess that Kylie also found out the jaw-dropping truth, cause her face also became pale.
