This poem was written by Aabha during her braces treatment. A phase that came with its share of discomfort, questions, and quiet courage. Like any child, she felt nervous and unsure at first, but she chose to turn her experience into words. What started as a tough moment became a small act of creativity and strength. Through this poem, Aabha shares how she faced change with bravery and hope, reminding us that every challenge carries a lesson and sometimes, even a smile waiting at the end.
Come on, align quickly
You are becoming a bit too prickly
I can’t handle you anymore
You are making my mouth pretty sore
I can’t speak, I can’t smile
My mouth seems stiff like a tile
I wish you were taken out soon
But it seems like once in a blue moon
Tell those teeth to scooch over here and there
One is having too much space, well, that’s not at all fair
You are doing the job of storing food,
When I am talking there food, it looks rude.
