You know how they say, grass is greener on the other side,
Whenever you wish to live someone else’s life?
And how stories end with the characters happy with their own life,
As everyone has their own troubles, goals to strive?
I know someone whose life is the best;
It really is no work, all rest.
If I could choose, I would switch lives with my pet cat,
His struggle-free life can be seen by his tummy, round and fat.
His electric feeder feeds him whenever his tummy rumbles,
And soft, pet-friendly rugs to break his fall when he fumbles.
He really is living the best life, believe me,
No worries, no work, and loads and loads of time free.
For proof, just look at him jumping and having fun,
As my under-eyes darken and his lighten.
He eats food only if it is 2 cm away;
All day he’ll sleep, at night he’ll wake up and play.
The only effort he makes is grooming his fur,
And to get a pat occasionally, he will purr.
Without showing any maturity, his birthday will be celebrated,
Fish, cat-cake, and cat-treats he will be fed.
New gifts will be added to his already huge pile,
Then he will flop on my bed as if he ran a mile.
Then he will get ear tickles and a belly rub,
And yowling and screeching, he will be washed with bubble bath in a tub.
So that’s why I prefer a cat’s life over mine,
because lavishly he lives and deliciously dine .
